Boardwalk Hall
Atlantic City
A little bit about the venue.
Legendary Boardwalk Hall was built in 1929 and completed an extensive $90 million dollar renovation in 2001. As well as home for concerts and and sports, Boardwalk Hall was, for decades, the home of the Miss America Pageant. Restored to its’ former beauty, the new Boardwalk Hall is also home to the annual Atlantic City Indoor Race which, for the first time, was brought to you by WeeBee Audio/Video this year.
Below you can see some images of the hall (we’ll get the good race stuff right below that).

And some views of the track inside Boardwalk Hall…

The race always attracts dedicated fans who love the annual Boardwalk Hall race.

Two other Team Spitfire members during their practice laps.

And then it’s time for Stevie Smith and the WeeBee Audio/Video 1K car to take his first practice laps.

After the laps the Team WeeBee Crew pushes the car back to the pit area for fine adjustment for the time trials.

Three classes of cars race during the weekend. Team WeeBee competes in the TQ midget class but there are also the Slingshots and the Champ Carts.

Some other TQ’s take the track for their time trials.

Then it’s Stevie’s turn to take the WeeBee 1K for its time trial.

And then back to the pits for final adjustments and tuning before the heats. There is much discussion of what to do and how to accomplish it. Driver Stevie Smith and his father Steve Smith discuss how make the car go just a little bit faster with the Team WeeBee Crew.

All the work is done. Now it’s time for driving. Stevie and the crew wait, lining up outside the track before the heat.

With the WeeBee 1K car in the pole position the heat begins!

And then Stevie gets hit from behind and spun around. Then another t-bones the 1K!

But the 1K emerges from the crash still in shape to race. However, the crash puts us at the back of the pack. Stevie fight his way through the pack…

And takes the checkered flag coming in second!

After the race Stevie talks to some race fans as well as other members of the RAACE Foundation and WeeBee Crew.

And here’s the little miracle that let Stevie finish the race. The tires are glued to the rims. You see here that in the crash, the rim was severely bent but the glue maintained a seal on the tire and allowed to go up through the pack and finish 2nd!
