So we were off to Path Valley on a very questionable call. It rained on and off all day and looked terrible in the skies but, what the hell, we’ll go anyway. We took two cars for Alex to drive tonight, his 600cc and his Dad’s 1000cc car.
Alex placed 5th in his heat starting 9th in the 600cc car.
Then his first shot at the Sidewinder starting in the back 8th or 9th (I can’t remember). He raced with the pack but got hit by the 92 Funck car which is the only way that guy passes anyone.
So Kerry and Chris did some changes to both cars and felt two top tens were in reach for tonight on a very tacky, fast race track.
Alex looked very good in his 600cc feature and bought home a respectable 9th place finish.
The Sidewinder race a bit of a different story on the second lap entering turn three Chris and Kerry both saw a big spark fly when Alex entered the corner but when he came out nothing seemed wrong. Alex had two or three guys set up for a low pass and the car looked to good when the engine started to miss and he had to move to the bottom of the track and go in the infield.
After the race I asked Alex what he thought happened. He seemed to think is was fuel related. Well whatever went wrong Chris and Jeremy and the boys will fix it for sure. I also asked Alex whether he like the 1000cc class he said it better than the 600cc, “It’s way faster!”
Of to Lanco tonight so we’ll update you all Monday because Sunday is Mothers Day. Don’t forget to call your Mom.
