Thanks to Shawn, Chris, Jeremy and Ron we had a car ready to race Thursday 1-18-07. We arrived in AC ready to defend our back-to-back championship efforts with yet another driver behind the wheel of the WeeBee Audio-Video / RAACE Foundation car. Driving in this one time special paint scene is world of outlaw driver Stevie Smith.

It started slow Stevie had no past experience of driving anything with a shifter or on anything but dirt. Practice didn’t go as we had hoped but we did get better each time out. Then Friday came for time trials Mr. WeeBee and Chris Peters, worked all afternoon to get the car as good as they could. What Mr. WeeBee and the thought to be a mid pack time trail turned out to be 16th out of 100. Which got us in the WeeBee Audio-Video Roaring 20 lap qualifiers taking the top 4 out of 20 cars in 3 events. By luck of the draw we started on the pole in the first race after getting taken out running 2nd on lap 10 we went to back with very little damage. ( pictures below )

Then getting sent to the back of the pack the car and the driver became one and he started to move through the pack quickly finished a closing second which put us in the main event Saturday with no other racing to do. That’s a good thing! The WeeBee crew talked after the race for least an hour coming up with a game plan. Then the boys headed off to do what they love second best about racing…COCKTAILS!!!!!! And lots we had…. The guys worked in the room for at least 2 more hours coming up with some changes they agreed on. Partied like rock stars and played cards until the wee hours of the morning……….

But up early Saturday to go find a part to help the car from over heating Chris designed a new sealed system overnight, which worked. It lower the car temp by 30 degrees and it left us out of the danger zone and worked GREAT! Good job Chris! Fifteen guys got to draw for starting spots unfortunately Stevie drew 14th dead middle of the pack and it hurt us. We got every wheel and lots of damage in true short track racing. With a broken left shock and shock tower frame rail we ended up 9th out of 25 starters and 100 cars that attended the race. Stevie did a good job with a broken car from an early race incident. A pretty good promotion for WeeBee but not the outcome we were looking for but always a good time and competitive. Thanks for checking in…. Here are all the other pictures to check out from Fridays racing at this link.

Next up get those awesome new dirt cars ready a sneak peak of Alex’s newly redone RTS 600cc car. Letting being done as we speak more pictures next week. The boys are taking a long weekend to OLD FORGE for some snowmobiling and R and R after a crazy busy holiday season. Maybe we will take some pictures from our trip. Check in soon and see!

We’ll be posting a full story on the race in AC last weekend shortly. For now, how about some pictures of what happened. In short, about halfway through the feature there was the typical AC pile up. You can the results of said stack o’cars below. That chromoly steel frame is broken in two places. The shock as bent pretty hard. And keep in mind, Stevie Smith brought the 1K back through the pack to finish 8th overall. Not bad.

Now don’t worry. We’ll get the TQ back into shape for some surprise racing later this season. In the meantime, the brand new 1000cc Sidewinder is taking shape and we should have some pictures of the progress very soon.

And if you want to see Mr. WeeBee’s old ride, the 600cc micro, now under the competent hands of Alex for the 2007 season, click on this link.
