Already we’re into night time racing but before we did that we were off to Linda’s Speedway Saturday afternoon for a test session. We went out several times making changes each time and getting faster each time. The main reason we went was for Alex to take his 4-stroke 250cc car out for his first run. He got pushed off and went through the gears and to our amazement he dropped the hammer each lap going faster and faster. Someone from RTS said that’s his first time in a big car??? Wow! He’s really getting around there. After he was done we changed gears for Shippensburg and headed off to the races.
We knew at some point the luck of the great draws had to end and did it ever. Mr WeeBee drew #140 of 150 starting him last / 9th in his heat event. Finishing 5th, we were off to the feature with a 9th place starting spot for the main event. After a very near miss on the first lap right in front of him Kerry was off moving up through the field nicely until near half way. Kerry miss judged the tires in 3 and 4 and hit one of them and knocked the front end out. The car became much more difficult to drive but we hung on to a fourth place finish which again we were all happy with.
Next week we think we’re back to Trailways Speedway.
